CFMS will kick off it's Color Run fundraiser this Thursday. Our goal is to raise $15,000 to support our students, staff and community all while enhancing the Cape Fear middle school experience! We will communicate how the fundraiser works and how students can earn prizes and rewards for assisting with the fundraiser. Donating will open on October 17th and the color run will be on October 31st. Last year was a huge success in raising over $7000. We are grateful for our Cape Fear Middle School families and look forward to this exciting event with our students! Go Grizzlies!

Cape Fear Middle school 8th graders completed a Work Values Sorter on NCCareers as part of their Career Development Plan (CDP). Some examples of work values are pay, time off, helping people, and working conditions. They rated the level of importance of 20 values and reported them as part of their state required CDP. Way to think ahead Grizzlies!

We would like to thank Jose Mata and Rocky Point Futbolito for donating $700 to the Cape Fear Middle School athletic department. Thank you for giving back to CFMS. Go Grizzlies!!

This week Mr. Odom's 8th grade students are continuing their work with drones. This time by having to land on marked spots across the room, by taking instructions from visual observers.

What the Health! with Ms. Morin's 6th grade class. Mrs. Barbour with SERVE, a rural healthcare education initiative, led a discussion about different healthcare careers and who they serve. Students then used a buzzer to answer Jeopardy-like questions based on pictures of healthcare workers in action.

September was a great month for student and staff attendance!
Free in person middle school tutoring.
Due to overwhelming support, Pender EMS is closing donations at 1pm today. Pender EMS may open for more donations at a later point depending on the needs from that area. Please do not continue to drop items off at Pender County Schools locations until further notice. THANK YOU!! #OnePender

Good evening,
Pender EMS and Fire are collecting donations to be delivered to our neighbors in Western NC who have suffered from the kind of historic flooding that we know all too well. They are making a delivery this Wednesday. Just as the state mobilized to help us six years ago, we want to mobilize to help now. Pender County Schools will be collecting water, nonperishable food items, personal hygiene items, and cleaning supplies on Monday and Tuesday of this week and that these items will be delivered to the Pender County EMS and Fire on Tuesday afternoon. Feel free to drop off items at Cape Fear Middle School. Please reach out if you have any questions.
