Ms. Getty's class participated in the "Can you hear me now?" activity. Using paper cups and string, the students tried to communicate back and forth with each other. Great job Ms. Getty!!



Today, in Ms. Sova's Makerspace class, students participated in their Final Project Gallery Walk and Reflection. Over the past three weeks, students have worked in groups or individually to create a product of their choosing. Great job Grizzlies!!!








Today, in Ms. Ferrentino's class, some serious math skills were being displayed. It is good to see students on task and engaged. Great job Ms. Ferrentino!!!




Today in Ms. Bove and Ms. Filali's class, there was great collaboration at work. Students were engaged in the lesson and tried to answer the Essential Question of: "What does the phrase “liberated but not free” mean?" Great job ladies!!!




Today in Ms. Radcliff's class, students learned how to use unit rates to find equivalent ratios. There was a lot of student engagement. Great job Ms. Radcliff!!!!

PCS middle school math teachers spent a productive day with Jamie Manor and Natalie Farinholt exploring effective ways to use manipulatives and visual representations to enhance students' understanding of mathematical concepts. This session is the second in a series of four as part of an ongoing professional development initiative. Over the course of this year and the next, middle school teachers are working toward earning the NCCAT Math Badge recognition.

Cape Fear Middle School students had an amazing author visit with Scott Reintgen today! Thanks to the NC Arts Council- Grassroots Arts Program Grant for helping to make it happen. Each student left with a first edition, signed copy of his new book "The Last Dragon on Mars."
