Try to find Mr. Rich sitting still, you will have a VERY hard time. He is constantly on the move looking for ways to make our school as clean as possible. Not only is our school more clean thanks to his efforts, but he also sets a great example of work ethic and taking care of the things we are trusted with.

After reading The Very Busy Spider, Ms. Meadows and Ms. Bryant's PreK class drew a bug using the characteristics of an insect and measured how many cubes tall their bug is. As a whole group they made a huge spider web using yarn and worked together as a team to build it strong enough for the plastic spider. 🕷

Check out Mrs. Rice's 4th graders 👀 Students are reading and analyzing popular Greek and Roman myths to discover what the myths explained, and how they relate to us today. After reading and discussing their myths, they created a group poster showing what they discovered. ✨

📚🌟 Student Showcase 🌟📚 We hope to see everyone at school Thursday evening for our Student Showcase/Curriculum Night.

Every year on March 21, we join people around the world in celebrating the amazing individuals with Down Syndrome. Today we wore brightly colored and mismatched socks to raise awareness and show our support. 🧦✨#WorldDownSyndromeDay

In Wit & Wisdom, 2nd grade is learning about the digestive system, so today Mrs. Allen’s class simulated digestion in a plastic bag. They made mucus to protect the “stomach” then added food (bread) and some “gastric juices” (orange juice, lemonade, or cola) and squeezed the bag to represent the contractions of the stomach muscles until the bread was mashed into chyme. Gross science for the win!

Mrs. Pierce's 1st first grade class has been working hard to collect their SURF points for good behavior. Today they were able to celebrate by bringing board games from home to play and wearing costumes. Keep up the great work!

Shout out to these awesome teachers! Thank you to our SCE families for continuing to share great things about our staff! Do you have a positive story to share? Click the link! https://forms.gle/LfNJcYZo27onNDiP9

📅 Mark your calendars! 📷Spring picture day is next week, Wednesday March 26. This will be both individual and class pictures. 🌸

We're happy to share with you that Charles H. from Mrs. Morgan's 3rd grade class is our Sea Turtle of the Week for the week of March 17-21. Charles, your school is proud of you. 💙🐢💚

Mrs. Curry’s flexible reading group are becoming fluent readers. Great work!

Happy first day of spring from Mrs. Montaruli's Kindergarten class! 🌸

Ms. Rickard's 5th graders just finished up their genetics and heredity unit and wanted to see the genes that make up all of our genetic traits. To see that, the class extracted the DNA from strawberries in a science lab today. 🍓🔎🧬

Second grade is half way through their book match-ups! The Book With No Pictures took down Extra Yarn. Dragons Love Tacos swept Chez Bob. Interrupting Chicken dominated Unicorns Are The Worst. And After The Fall clobbered Amazing Grace! What will the second half hold for the rest of the books?!? 📚

Thank you to Nurse Anita & PCHD Nurse Stephanie Todd for talking to our 4th graders today about substance abuse prevention. These lovely ladies are helping our students to be aware about what is safe and what is not.

Help ‼️ Mrs. Faircloth lost the owners manual. 📖 3rd and 4th grade students are learning about coding and self driving cars in STEAM. This week they are creating their own owners manual for their mini self driving car Indi. They are having fun learning what know output Indi preforms when they input different colors. 🚗🟩🟨🟦
