What a fun afternoon! To prepare our Battle of the Books team, some teachers came to to battle them. It was a close, but the students came out on top. Thank you to all staff members who read books and came to support our team. 📚✨

Reminder: Tuesday, March 3, 2026 is a Teacher Workday. There is no school for students.

Both routes of bus 291 will be combined as a first route this week. If your child usually rides the 2nd route, they may be about 20 minutes early. Bus 284 and 288 have sub drivers today. This may affect arrival times slightly. Thank you!

This week we're celebrating Read Across America Week! 📚✨ This special week is all about inspiring a love of books and building a community of lifelong readers. Today we wore our SCE shirts because Sea Turtles are strong readers. We also enjoyed many special guest readers who shared wonderful stories with us. 💗
Guess who loved EOG prep yesterday? 🙋♀️🙋♂️ Ms. Collin’s 5th graders! These mathematicians used Plickers to review and it was a hit! Students loved watching their cards get scanned, seeing the live percentage correct, and checking which answer choices classmates picked. The instant feedback turned review into a game and sparked great conversations about strategies. 🎯📊✨

Then they practiced reading sentences aloud, stretching them with describing words, and checking for capital letters and ending punctuation.

In STEAM class this week K-3 classes engineered their own ice rinks, created an athlete, and experimented with how magnets 🧲 can move objects based on winter Olympic sports on ice. The kids loved watching their figure skaters, hockey players, and speed skaters move on their ice rinks and challenge pathways.

Ms. Polster is teaching 2nd grade all about the xylophone. 🎶 They know that the metal instrument is called the glockenspiel. And the bigger the xylophone, the lower the sound. The smaller the xylophone, the higher the sound. 🔗 https://youtu.be/NoRx9rN8TjM
