There will be NO afternoon Pre K bus. Students who attend school tomorrow will all need to be picked up in the back by car in the afternoon.

Today we celebrated World Kindness Day by spreading smiles (and flowers) to some staff at school. 🤗💕🌸

There’s no way to thank our veterans for everything they sacrifice for our freedom, but today on Veterans Day, we will try. Thank you to all the following service men and women, both past and present that are connected to our SCE family. ❤️ 💙 🤍 🔗 https://bit.ly/4nUy7rd

Thanks to our great music teacher, Ms. Polster, for putting on a fabulous Veterans Day concert with our fourth graders. Another thank you to Ms. Hanson for providing the patriotic artwork from multiple grade levels.

Please DIVE into this week's news from Surf City Elementary. Happy Veterans Day to all who are serving or have served in our Armed Forces. We appreciate your service. Reminder no school Tuesday in honor of the holiday.

✨Meet Tripp! Today's CIS #StudentSpotlight shines on this special Surf City Second grade student. ✨ When he's not in school he likes watching EYstreem and Crafty play Minecraft or building Legos. (Tripp is a Lego master.) He sees himself being a professional gamer someday like his uncle. 🎮 If you ask Tripp, recess is the best part of the school day and his friends Bodie, Beau and Adler help him feel supported at school. Tripp likes working with his CIS Student Support Specialist at Surf City Elementary School, Ms. Emily Little. He describes her as nice, "because she's the teacher who calms you down." "I learned stuff at lunch bunch with my friends. We talk about our feelings and how to be calm," said Tripp. "I like doing the fun activities like watching fun videos and hanging out with my friends." "Tripp has been such a joy to work with over the past two years! He’s super silly, a hard worker, and has the biggest heart. When he first came to me as a first grader, he sometimes felt guilty for having big emotions, but over time he’s learned to understand and manage those feelings in healthy ways, recognizing that emotions aren’t bad, they’re just part of being human," said CIS Student Support Specialist Emily Little. Way to go, Tripp!! Wonderful work! ✨
