Happy Heart
February 14 - 18, 2022
We want to educate and engage our families with an interactive activity that can be completed at home. This week your child will be learning about heart disease and that it is the leading cause of death in America. 80% of the risk factors are preventable and we can change that with everyone’s help! We want to educate our students on how our heart works and the best ways that we can take care of it. One way is through exercise so you can live a long and heart healthy life! The unhealthy behaviors children learn during childhood are more than likely going to continue as they become adults. We need to make sure they understand the importance of exercise at an early age so this behavior will continue into adulthood. This week your child will see a different video each day and participate in a jump rope challenge. They can practice this challenge daily at recess and then on Friday they will take their jump ropes home with them to share what they learned this week with their family. Please encourage your child to exercise and take care of their heart. As a school, we are not raising money for the American Heart Association; however, if your family would like to donate please do so directly to The American Heart Association at https://www.heart.org/en/get-involved/ways-to-give .

Thank you, Fresh Start Rescue for sharing you reptiles, lizards and bugs with the kindergarten classes.

We had a wonderful time at STEAM night on Tuesday evening. Thanks so much for coming out to support your child and enjoying a fun filled night. If you did not complete the survey could you please take a few minutes to fill out this google form. We value your opinions and would like to make next year's event even better. Thanks for your time!
