Congratulations to the Pender High School JROTC which is headed to Washington, DC to compete in the JLAB Championship. The JROTC Leadership & Academic Bowl (JLAB) is a nationally recognized academic competition created exclusively for JROTC students. Cadets who participate will test their knowledge and leadership skills through competing in a series of rounds against other JLAB teams.

All juniors: On March 1st, all juniors will be taking the ACT. Last week and this week, juniors will be doing pre-ACT requirements for the assessment.
Reminders: First, head gear is not allowed in the building. You should remove your hat, hoodie, etc. upon entering any building on campus. Second, no outside fast food or drink is allowed during the school day or in any classrooms. Water bottles only are allowed in classrooms.

On Sunday, an airplane crashed off the coast of NC, 4 students from East Carteret High School lost their lives. We encourage students from both Pender & Trask to wear camo to tomorrow’s conference tournament games showing our support for East Carteret & their families.

Indoor 1A/2A State Track Meet: This Friday, February 11th, PHS will have two student-athletes competing in the 1A/2A State Track Meet in Winston-Salem. Daisy Hearn will compete in the WC Shot Put and Olivia Gurganus will compete in the high jump. Way to go Patriots!
Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery: ASVAB will be given February 10th in the auditorium for students interested in joining the military. Testing is free but you must sign up by February 9th with Col. Themes or Col. Shaw. Practice tests can be found at military.com.
Cape Fear Community College: CFCC CCP Parent Information Night will be Tuesday, February 22nd at 6:00 PM in the auditorium. This event is for rising juniors and seniors who are not currently taking classes through Cape Fear Community College.
