This week we’re excited to recognize Ms. Jen Julien, Data Manager at Cape Fear Middle School.
Ms. Julien is much more than a data manager, she is deeply involved in many aspects of CFMS. From leading the Sunshine Committee to supporting athletic events by running the scoreboard on game days 🏀, she consistently goes above and beyond to support students and staff. Her care for others and commitment to student success are evident in everything she does.
One of Ms. Julien’s passions is improving student attendance, and she has made it her mission to help CFMS reach the highest attendance rates possible. Through creative attendance competitions, student conferences, and thoughtful data tracking, she works tirelessly to keep students engaged and present each day. 📊✨
Ms. Julien also brings positivity to the school community by highlighting students and staff on digital signage throughout the building, helping everyone feel seen and celebrated. Her compassion, drive, and willingness to listen make CFMS a better place for all. 💛💙

Today's Q2 celebration at Cape Fear Middle School was packed with fun! Even the rain couldn't keep us from celebrating our Grizzlies.

In Mrs. Morin's class, students practiced cooperative drawing with holiday themes. The challenge: draw collaboratively, one shape at a time, with no verbal communication. This activity strengthened visual literacy, patience, and nonverbal collaboration skills—all while having fun creating scenes of the Grinch and Santa! 🎅🎨

What an incredible week of launches at Cape Fear Middle School! Our Grizzlies took their STEM skills to new heights with Mr. Odom's annual Launch Day activities:
🏎️ 8th graders put the pedal to the metal with CO2-powered dragsters
🚀 7th graders engineered and launched solid fuel model rockets
💧 6th graders took advantage of the beautiful weather for water-powered rocket launches
From the classroom to the launch pad, our students are learning hands-on engineering, physics, and the thrill of seeing their hard work blast off! Amazing job, Grizzlies!
