EOG testing starts NEXT FRIDAY! 📅
These end-of-grade scores matter — they help teachers and counselors make the best scheduling decisions for your student heading into next school year. We want every Grizzly to give it their all! 💪
📆 Testing Dates:
May 8 – Math
May 12 – ELA
May 14 – Science (8th Grade Only)
Here are a few ways you can set your student up for success:
😴 Prioritize sleep — A well-rested brain performs so much better. Make sure your Grizzly is getting a full night's rest during testing week.
🔋 Charge that Chromebook — Please make it part of your nightly routine to plug in and fully charge the Chromebook so it's ready to go each morning.
🎓 8th Grade Families — If your student is currently enrolled in a high school level course, their teacher will be giving out more information on when those exams will be scheduled.

🏫 Cape Fear Middle School Families — 📢 Important EOG Retake Opportunity!
We want to share an important opportunity for your student. Any student who does not score at the proficient level on their End-of-Grade (EOG) tests will be given a chance to retake them. 🎯
❓ Why does this matter? EOG results play a key role in how we build student schedules for the upcoming school year — and this is important for ALL of our middle school students! 📅 By using the data from these assessments, we are able to make informed decisions about course placement and academic support, ensuring every student starts next year in the right place. ✅ This is especially critical for our current 8th graders who are rising to 9th grade. 🎓 These EOG scores will also be shared with the high school and used to help determine course placement and scheduling for their freshman year! 🏫➡️📚
💪 We encourage every student to take this retake opportunity seriously because this is another opportunity to prove how great we are at CFMS. 🌟

Grant is a 6th grader at Cape Fear Middle School, recognized for his kindness.
Grant is known for helping others when they need it. His family shared that he often talks about how he helps classmates during the school day. Whether it’s offering support with schoolwork or just being there for someone, he looks for ways to be useful and kind.
His actions help create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking for help.
Outside of school, Grant enjoys video games 🎮 and exploring science-related activities 🔬. His favorite food is hotdogs 🌭, and his favorite color is red ❤️. He has a cat 🐱 at home.

📢 Volunteers Needed: EOG Test Proctors!
We are in need of test proctors for our upcoming End-Of-Grade testing. Test proctors will be trained the morning of testing at 7:00 AM and then help monitor during our test sessions, which run from 7:45 AM until approximately 11:00 AM. Volunteers are required to complete the Volunteer Registration Form (link located the Google Form)and be at least 18 years of age.
Our EOG schedule is as follows:
Math EOG — Friday, May 8th
Reading EOG — Tuesday, May 12th
8th Grade Science EOG — Thursday, May 14th
