The 5th grade cast of the musical "Elfis and the Frozen Princess" will rehearse from 2:30-3:45 PM on Tuesday, October 8th. Please be sure to pick up your child on time.
A Cub Scouts representative will be available during lunch on Tuesday to speak with any interested students. The following Wednesday, from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m., there will be a Cub Scout sign-up night for families in the media center.
We will have a flu clinic here at CFE on Tuesday, November 12th at 7:30 am. Parents if you would like your child to have a flu shot here at school that will be given by the health department you will need to fill out an online permission form. Paper copies are also available by reqeust. The health department would like all those interested to have the form completed and turned in by Friday, October 18th.
Parents this is a reminder to send in a note when your child is absent so that it can be coded correctly in our system. Also, if you child checks in late from an appointment please bring a note from the doctor or dentist office so that it will be excused.
This is a reminder if you need to change your child’s transportation arrangements, please send a note to your child’s teacher. If a change must be made by phone, please contact us by 2:00 pm to ensure we have sufficient time to inform the teacher and student before the school day ends. Additionally, there are no checkouts after 2:00pm. When signing your child out, please remain inside the office.

Don't forget Stride and Girls on the Run begins this Tuesday, October 1st! Practices will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30-3:30 until the end of season 5k on December 8th. Pick-up will be in the front of the building. Looking forward to an exciting season ahead!

Our Kindergarten Cubs embraced their day of remote learning. Even Hank from Ms. Roger's class took part in learning today.

Our 2nd graders have been reading A Color of His Own. They recreated the problem and resolution by acting them out. In the end, we learned that change is always easier with a friend!
Students are really enjoying our new science curriculum.
In first grade, we are using models to recognize differences in the features of the day and night sky and apparent movement of objects across the sky as observed from Earth.

We had a fantastic Title I/Curriculum Night! Lots of learning, food, and fun!!
Last night during our Curriculum Night Events parents and students had an opportunity to come in to the library and take home books and stop and read for a while. It was so great for parents and students to connect over books and enjoy some quiet reading time together.
Mrs. Hollifield's 2nd grade class did an Outside-In circle to discuss the problem and resolution of our book A Color of His Own.
Today the 5th grade made a trip to Masonboro Island to learn about biotic and abiotic characteristics in estuaries and on the island.
3rd did a gallery walk exploring different poems, texts and artwork all relating to the sea and how it can be a beautiful yet dangerous place.
Ms. Nichols had to fashion some new colors today. NC Central was once again victorious! Maybe next year NC A&T.
