Could you persuade someone to buy a haunted house?! Last week in Mrs. Pratt's Shark's Den class students looked at local real estate ads to see how people use descriptive language to sell someone something. Students were then tasked to try to convince someone to buy a haunted house that was for sale. From broken windows creating a constant, "cool, Carolina breeze," to never having an electric bill due to the house lights being out, these students really came up with some creative persuasive paragraphs!

Please check out this week's Shark Bites. Don't forget that Wednesday, October 18th is Fall Picture Day for all students. Also, join us this Friday for the SCMS PTA Fall Festival. This is a community event and is open to all ages.

Ms. Muffett and Mrs. H's 6th grade social studies classes studying what it’s like to be an archaeologist. Mrs. Ennis a veteran teacher to SCM came to help us unearth skeletons and artifacts of burial sites of an ancient civilization. Based on observations and the artifacts, the students were able to tell which gender they think the burial belongs to and what was their social class was. Having a lot of fun at SCM.
