8th grader Taylor Evans volunteered at a community center in Ashe County, NC for Helene relief over the Thanksgiving break. She and her sister Sydney (former Shark) were randomly assigned to BOOKS, perfect for this Library Assistant and Battle of the Books 3 year team member! There were boxes and boxes of unorganized books they were to go through and sort. They made a mini library, complete with sections and signs. The staff there were so incredibly impressed and thankful. The girls spent 3 hours opening boxes, sorting books, making little bookshelves out of various things they found, and making signs for each section. They turned the community center stage into a library! Great job, Sharks!

Don’t miss the 2nd Annual Christmas in Pender Festival of Trees! Our 8th Grade Art students and National Junior Honor Society members worked together to create a stunning Topsail Island Pirate Ship-Inspired Tree 🏴☠️🌴.

📍 Where: Family Life Center Gymnasium, Hampstead United Methodist Church
✨ Our tree will be auctioned off, with all proceeds supporting education programs for the Pender County Sheriff’s Department.
