Veterans Day Lunch 🇺🇸

This morning, 3rd grade students had the opportunity to meet author Mary Cerullo. Ms. Cerullo is the author of ‘Giant Squid: Searching for a Sea Monster’. Students have been using the book to learn about central message, text features, and writing complete paragraphs to demonstrate their understanding of why scientists explore the ocean for sea creatures. This book is the last book for module 1 of our new curriculum, Wit & Wisdom. #ExperienceTheExcellence

Mrs. Harbin's Kindergarten class read about Veterans Day today and learned why veterans are heroes. Then they made cards for veteran family members and local veterans. 🇺🇸

If you heard cheering after school from Dr. Martin's classroom it was the “Just Plane Awesome” Science Olympiad team. They got the motor to work for their plane!! The students worked diligently on carefully constructing their model planes. Next, they have to test out their hypothesis on how far it will fly using 1 of 3 methods.

Meet the Sea Turtles Series: A familiar face in a new role. Mrs. Hart is one of our new 3rd grade teachers! 💚🐢💙

This week we’re celebrating National School Psychology Week! Just like school nurses nurture our children’s physical well-being, our school psychologists nurture our students’ mental and emotional well-being. Thank you Mrs. Campbell! #ExperienceTheExcellence
