Staff & students brought cozy and festive vibes to our halls. From shirts to scarves, the school was wrapped in holiday cheer and school spirit. Way to show it, everyone! 👏✨

Bus 281 will be about 20 minutes early this afternoon, on bus 290.

Mrs. Curry's 1st grade class learned all about reindeer. After exploring facts and details, students created a main idea & details reindeer to proudly share what they learned. 🦌📚 We love seeing our young learners show their thinking in such a festive way! ✨

Congratulations to Ms. Meadows for representing SCES last night at the Jones Onslow Bright Ideas banquet. Her grant money is going to be used for literacy materials in her PreK classroom. 🎉

Mrs. Wilson’s 5th grade class earned 20 surfboard points for their awesome choices during the school day, so they're celebrating Polar Express style! 🚂👨‍✈️🎟️

We are shouting CONGRATULATIONS to Alice Kaemmer. Alice is a first grader in Mrs. Pierce's class. Her artwork was selected for Pender County's Superintendent's Christmas Card. She was recognized at the School Board Meeting last night. I are so proud of you Alice!

As the weather continues to change, please make sure your child comes to school with appropriate outdoor clothing. We go outside daily for recess when weather permits and having items like a warm coat, hat, gloves, and proper footwear helps keep students comfortable and ready to learn and play.

In music class this week, 2nd grade students are using handbells to play some favorite Christmas carols. With teamwork, careful listening, and tons of holiday spirit, they turned simple notes into magical melodies!

A BIG thanks to Ms. Davidson, our Instructional Technology Specialist, who taught all 2nd grade classes how to create a digital book and all the skills that go along with it. Students will use these skills to create a Johnny Appleseed book during their upcoming Wit & Wisdom unit.
