Pender High Beta Club Earns Bid to Nationals in Nashville, TN
The Pender High Beta Club earned a bid to the Nationals in Nashville, Tennessee by earning top honors in a number of categories at the Beta Club Convention held at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, North Carolina January 28-29, 2022. Pender High School had nine students who placed during the competition at the Convention. PHS had three first place awards in Division I Color Photography, Division II Poetry and Service Learning Showcase; three third place awards in Living Literature, Engineering, and Robotics; and three fourth place awards in 10th grade Spanish, 12th grade Math, and 3D Design.
The following students placed at the Convention:
First Place Awards: Hannah Robbins in Division II Poetry; Abigail Croom in Service Learning Showcase; and Brooke Fuller in Division I Color Photography. Third Place Awards: Actors: Julius Yasir, Luke Grant, Ethan Bolin, Austin Anderson, Olivia Gurganus, Abigail Croom, Taylor Treto, Rylan Smith; Costumes: Madison Newton; Make-up: Lillie Hansen; Set-up: Gracelyn Morrison, Katelyn Batson, Hazy Sandoval, Alyssa Williams, Melia Fullwood, Mallory Psioda, and Andy Psioda in Living Literature; Zach McGowen, Austin Anderson, Ethan Bolin, and Brooke Fuller in Engineering; and Hazy Sandoval, Melia Fullwood, Lillie Hansen, Andy Psioda, Alyssa Williams, and Katie Iddings in Robotics. Fourth Place Awards: Odalis Garcia Lopez in 10th Grade Spanish; Andy Psioda in 12th Grade Math, and Brooke Fuller in 3D Design.
We want to congratulate all of our Beta Club members who represented Pender High School at the Convention in Greensboro and wish them luck as they prepare for the Nationals in Nashville, TN. Way to go Patriots!!
