Pender High School

Last week, Ms. New’s Health Science II class had the opportunity to welcome a guest speaker who introduced students to essential pharmacy standards. The students were engaged as they learned to properly don gloves, masks, and gowns using sterile techniques. Once fully geared up, they practiced reconstituting medications according to doctors’ and manufacturers’ instructions. The entire simulation focused on creating chemotherapy medication for a patient, allowing students to apply the skills they had been reviewing in class.
