Macca Carr-Bordeaux

On Tuesday, February 28th, Pender High School senior football player, Mecca Carr-Bordeaux, made the decision for his future. He has decided to continue his football career at Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee. Mecca said he decided he wanted to attend a historically black university and become better at his defensive end position. His head coach at TSU will be Eddie George, who won the Heisman Trophy in 1995 and played pro ball with the Houston Oilers. He was also a pro bowler from 1997-2000. Mecca’s defensive line coach at TSU will be Clyde Simmons who spent 15 years as a defensive lineman in the NFL; most of those years were with the Philadelphia Eagles. In 2018, he was inducted into the Philadelphia Eagles’ Hall of Fame. It is obvious why Mecca chose to become a Tiger at Tennessee State University. With these former professional football players as two of his coaches, Mecca should be well on his way to becoming the type of player he wants to be. We wish him the best of luck in his future college football career.
