BETA team members

The PHS BETA Club was successful at the NC State Convention in Greensboro in late January. The Club had seven top five placements at the convention. The following placed in academic areas: Fifth place finishers were; Jensen Bordeaux in math, Ryley Bradshaw in social studies, Grace Bordeaux in biomedical health science, and Kelly Lopez in Spanish. Second place finishers were; Pasco Horton in agriscience, Katlynn Iddings in biomedical health science, and Madison Cullifer in agriscience. We had one Champion in academics and that was Jensen Bordeaux in biomedical health science. We had two other Champions; the Living Literature team with their scene from Lord of the Flies, and Brooke Fuller for Club Trading Pin. The Living Literature team consisted of Austin Anderson, Rylee Mintz, Carter Brown, Pasco Horton, and Aiden Murray.

The Beta Club’s success at the State Convention qualifies them for the National Convention this summer. We want to congratulate all the members of the club as well as the teachers who put a lot of time and effort into this competition. The teachers who worked so hard on this endeavor were: Ms. Karen McGowen, Mrs. Bevin Stokes, Mrs. Laura Eakins, Mrs. Rachel Judy, Ms. Larissa Lupton, Mrs. Bailey King, and Mr. Jake Rawls. We want to wish the BETA Club and these teachers Good Luck in the National Convention this summer.
