Today we had our Quarter 3 PBIS Celebration for our students. Our Grizzlies have been diligently working, and it was a great day to celebrate their success. Thank you PTO for all you do to help us reward our students.

We have had a lot of students the past two weeks (March 10-21) with perfect attendance. Congratulations to the 83 eighth graders, 81 sixth graders and 79 seventh graders with perfect attendance. Great job!!!! Keep it up!!! Here is a midweek update for our CFMS Attendance competition. As of today, Ms. Ferrentino, Mrs. Dunn, Mrs. Mills, Mr. Elmore, Mr. Barbour, Ms. Elmore, Mrs. Radcliff, and Mr. Zeigler are in the lead. We still have two days to go this week's competition!!!!! We have 266 students with perfect attendance from March 10th-today (March 19th). Way to go Grizzlies!!!!! Keep it up!!! Ms. Morin's students are exploring their career interests by working their way through their top four career clusters. Each "center" has a notebook of engaging information, a To Do list, and several tasks related to those careers. All materials are in a box and students work in pairs to accomplish the tasks. In the process, they learn more about the careers like what high school courses align, working conditions, and more. They have the opportunity to complete a small project related to that career as well. Thanks for all your hard work preparing these centers Ms. Morin!

Mark your calendars!!! On Thursday, March 27th we will be having our Family STEAM Night from 4 pm-6 pm. We have kicked off our March Madness Attendance Competition. Over the next few weeks, homerooms will compete for prizes and bragging rights. This week Bove, Tarzia, Schwantes, Mr. Elmore, Barbour, Mrs. Strong, Merritt, and Gill's homerooms battle it out to go to the level. Remember our motto: In school, on time and engaged. Sportsmanship is the foundation of education-based athletics. PCS middle and high schools emphasize sportsmanship in all programs and at all contests. Congratulations to our basketball and cheer sportsmanship award winners. The boys' and girls' basketball teams from Surf City Middle were selected, and the cheer squads from West Pender and Cape Fear Middle also received recognition for this season. Teams are nominated by their peers based on the criteria below. -Coaches, athletic director, and administrators provide a welcoming environment for visiting teams, officials, and fans. -Coaches serve as role models for their student-athletes and parents, displaying respect for players, opponents, and officials. -Players compete with integrity, perseverance, and a sense of fair play. -Parents demonstrate respect for all players, coaches, officials, parents, and fans. -A team must be ejection-free for the season and must participate in the nomination process to qualify.
