Happy Camping Day in First Grade! The excitement and engagement was amazing, with the class being so quiet and on task, you could hear a pin drop. Students completed their Wit and Wisdom story maps at their campsites, read our weekly Geodes book by the camp fire, worked on measurement in Eureka, and the highlight of the day was brainstorming the steps of our how-to writing while making s’mores.

This day is celebrated every year on author Beverly Cleary's birthday. D.E.A.R time was a reading practice featured in her Ramona books. Our Cubs loved participating today!
