Students got to sift through sediment from the Aurora Phosphate Mine in their 8th grade Science classes to find shark teeth, ray mandibles, shark vertebrae, coral, turtle shells, dolphin teeth, sea shells, & more!! These fossils range from 55-5 million years old!!

Tomorrow, a total solar eclipse will cross North America. In Pender County, the solar eclipse will begin at approx. 1:59 pm and end at approx. 4:28 pm. While we will work to share this as an educational opportunity, we recognize many students will be dismissed from school during the eclipse. As such, we want students to be aware it is never advisable to look at the sun during a solar eclipse without wearing proper eye safety equipment.
