Good evening West Pender Middle School families, this is Principal Garza with your Weekly Warrior message.

  • Progress Reports: Monday, students will receive their progress reports for all courses to inform families of student progress thus far in quarter three.
  • Early Release: Wednesday, February 8th, is an early release day for all students. WPMS will dismiss students at 12:00PM. 
  • Summer Camp: Our CFCC Career Academy is now registering students for the Career Academy Summer Enrichment Camp! Over 55 students have already registered. Students can receive registration information during lunch or from their homeroom teachers. 
  • Freshmen Transition Day: 8th graders will attend their freshmen transition day at PHS and HTHS this Wednesday. 

This week we celebrate National School Counselor’s Week with our fabulous WPMS counselor, Brenna Hopkins. Join us in celebrating her leadership at West Pender  and all school counselors by participating in our first National School Counselor’s Spirit Week. 

  • Mindful Monday - Student’s wear their favorite hat to symbolize the use of their calming skills. Parents can watch the short video to learn the 5-4-3-2-1 Method to managing anxiety. 
  • Talk it out Tuesday - Students wear mismatched clothes and families can talk about their favorite coping tools. Create a family coping tools list together!
  • Wellness Wednesday - Students wear green to represent mental health awareness and families work together to make a list of everything they are thankful for.
  • Therapeutic Thursday - Students wear tie dye to represent love, calm, and peace and families can read a story together about what it means to be a bucket filler!  
  • Forget about it Friday - Students wear their school-appropriate pajamas to promote big dreams. In order to dream big, families can click on activities  that help us learn about what we hang onto and what we let go.
