GREENSBORO, NC – The West Pender Middle School Beta Club proudly represented their school at the North Carolina Junior Beta Convention in Greensboro, showcasing months of preparation and hard work across various competitions.
Students competed in a wide range of events, including engineering, drawing, pottery, robotics, living literature, recyclable art, mixed media art, marketing, apparel design, academics, and photography. Their dedication paid off with notable achievements, as Trinity Lamb secured second place in the 7th Grade Science Academic competition, while Victoria Wood claimed first place in the onsite drawing competition.
Beyond their competitive efforts, Beta Club members also took part in the convention’s state service project, collecting can tabs to donate to the Ronald McDonald House, contributing to a meaningful cause. Students also enjoyed the opportunity to meet Betas from other schools while trading pins and working together on a fun and interactive scavenger hunt.
Additionally, Beta Sponsors Cassidy Miller and Angel Nelson were the sole recipients of the prestigious Educators of Excellence award for North Carolina. This recognition celebrates their outstanding commitment to Beta Club growth, inclusivity of all eligible grade levels, consistent event attendance, and dedication to service during the previous school year.
