This is Principal Garza with your Weekly Warrior Update. There are several important attachments and updates this week:
Parents' Right to Know Letter: This letter informs all WPMS stakeholders about state-mandated testing for this school year. WPMS students will take assessments in the following areas:
Grades 6-8: Reading and Math
Grade 8: Science

2. 7th Grade Immunizations: A reminder that all 7th graders must complete the Tdap and Meningococcal immunization requirements by September 24, 2024. After this date, students who have not met the requirements will not be able to return to school until the vaccinations are completed. If your child cannot receive these vaccinations due to medical or religious reasons, a written statement signed by a parent or doctor must be submitted. New students to North Carolina must also complete a NC Health Assessment and attach their immunization records by the same deadline. Please submit all documentation to our school nurse, Nurse Freeman at mariha_freeman@pender.k12.nc.us. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to her directly. 3. Morning Car Riders: To help with traffic flow and ensure safety, we ask that all morning car riders use the designated car rider road in front of the school (same as the afternoon pick-up route). Please enter on the left-hand side of the road mimicking the same traffic pattern as in the afternoons. Additionally, avoid passing other cars in this area, as it creates a dangerous situation for our students entering the building.Thank you for helping us keep our Warriors safe!
