This is Principal Garza with your Weekly Warrior Update.
First, a big congratulations to two of our amazing WPMS teachers, Cassidy Miller and Angel Nelson, who have been named 2023-2024 Educators of Excellence! This prestigious award recognizes Beta Sponsors who are dedicated to expanding their Beta Clubs, engaging all eligible grade levels, participating in National Beta events, and committing to service within their clubs. It is the highest honor a National Beta sponsor can receive, with only 257 out of over 20,000 sponsors earning this distinction this year. These honorees come from just 87 of over 14,000 clubs across the U.S. and beyond. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishment!
Also, a huge shout out to our fabulous Athletic Director and Health/PE teacher, Brittany King, who has been named a top 3 finalist for the PCS Beginning Teacher of the Year! Way to go, Coach King!
Communication Update
Now that we’ve smoothed out daily procedures and settled into our first week, we want to ensure seamless communication with all your child’s teachers. We’ll continue using the Rooms app for parent-teacher communication this year.
Returning Families: If you signed up for Rooms last year, there’s no need to take any further action. Your child’s classes and teachers should automatically appear in the app.
New Families: If you're new to PCS, please use the link attached to this Sunday’s email to create your Rooms account. Over the next few weeks, advisory teachers will also send home setup codes to assist you.
Athletic Updates
The fall sports season is kicking off this week! Our softball team will have home games at Pender Memorial Park on Monday, September 9th, and Thursday, September 12th. Games start at 4:00 PM, and admission is $5.
Our first football game is home this Wednesday, September 11th at Penderlea School. The game begins at 4:30PM and admission is $5.00.
