Good evening West Pender Middle School families,
This is Principal Garza with our Weekly Warrior update. We hope everyone is enjoying this extended weekend. As we kick off the new school year, there are some important updates and events to be aware of:
1. Diagnostic Testing:
This week marks the beginning of our first diagnostic testing for the school year. All students will participate in iReady diagnostic testing for both math and reading. These assessments at the start of the year are designed to be challenging, helping us identify areas of growth and improvement. We encourage parents to support their students by reassuring them that it's okay to find these tests challenging, and the important thing is to give their best effort.
2. Football Tryouts:
Football tryouts will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday at Penderlea School from 3:30 to 5:45 pm. School-provided transportation to Penderlea will be available for all students, but we kindly request that parents pick up their children from Penderlea School at 5:45 PM.
3. Softball Tryouts:
Softball tryouts will also resume on Tuesday and Wednesday, taking place at Pender Memorial Park. All athletes should be picked up from Pender Memorial Park at 5:30 pm.
