Good evening Topsail Middle families, this is Mr. Lawrence with this week's community message. Thank you to all of our parent volunteers that assisted us with our book fair last week, your time was very much appreciated. We have new information to share this week, so check your email or the school website for our TMS community message.
Attention 8th grade parents, just a reminder that applications for Pender Early College High School is due before January 20, 2023. We have received references for students but we are missing many of the applications. Please remind your student if they are interested in attending PECHS to complete the application and submit them to Mrs. Markijohn or Mrs. Jaworowski.
Parents, our lost and found has increased in size and we are running out of storage space for it all. Please remind your student to check the lost and found if they lost anything prior to winter break.
Join us on Tuesday evening at the Topsail High School Auditorium to watch our TMS Band students perform their winter concert.
Exciting PBIS news this week! Thanks to our amazing PBIS team and our fantastic PTO, we have great prizes for our quarterly raffles!! Students can put their pirate cash in the buckets Tuesday and Wednesday for their chance to be drawn for a prize. Check out this link to see the baskets. Talk to your teachers about grade level opportunities as well!

**Must follow the school dress code. No masks or hats. Shoulders and mid-drifts should be covered! Holiday Onesies are only permitted on Pajama day, clothing must be worn underneath.
Thank you to all the students, parents and teachers for sporting the TMS book fair last week! We sold over 1,000 books and 25% of the proceeds will come back to the library to update our reading section with new comfortable seating students have been asking about. If your student still has money on ewallet, go to this website and shop online until Dec. 14 and proceeds will still come back to TMS Library! Thank you to all the parent volunteers who helped make the book fair happen!
Athletics & Clubs
In Soccer News we have been selected to host the Pender County tournament in our stadium this week with semi-finals on Monday. TMS Girls will play Penderlea at 4pm, Surf City Boys will play Penderlea Boys at 5pm, Surf City Girls will play Cape Fear Girls at 6 pm, and TMS Boys will play Burgaw Boys at 7. Games may move quicker and have earlier start times as the evening progresses. Winners will meet on Thursday here at our stadium, girls game at 5, boys to follow after.
Boys and Girls basketball tryouts will take place when students return from Winter break on January 9. Please make sure your student athlete has completed all required physical forms before attending tryouts.
Operation Military Kids Club will have its meeting after school this Friday, December 16.
The Builders Club meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, please contact Mrs. Williams if you’d like to join!
SGA Elections will begin this Wednesday the 14th. All approved candidates should have submitted their video by this past Friday the 9th. Please check your email and reach out to our advisors Ms. Bafunno or Mrs. Baer with any questions.
Topsail Baseball Christmas Camp: Saturday, Dec. 17th. All children K-8th grade are invited. Link for online registration. Topsail HS coaching staff and current professional and collegiate baseball players will be providing instruction.
Topsail High Basketball Clinic will be held January 3, 2023 from 9AM-noon in the Topsail High gym. Students in kindergarten - 8th grade are encouraged to sign up AS SOON AS POSSIBLE- using this link - space is limited. Students will be coached by current players on the Topsail Girls JV and Varsity teams. Clinic participants will receive a T-Shirt and admission to the game January 3rd. Participants are also invited to play "Knockout" on the court during halftime of both games. Payment of $50 must be made by DECEMBER 20th and can be dropped off at the high school. TMS will be hosting the boys and girls soccer playoff games next week and is looking for volunteers to help sell concessions. There are 4 games on Monday (the high school concession hut will be used this day) and 2 games on Thursday. Please sign up using the link below if you can help!! With the holiday season upon us we are trying to spread some cheer and show our appreciation to our TMS staff by putting together a holiday luncheon. Still In Need of Spirit Wear? We’ve got you covered! Head over to the PTO and either print off the order form and send it in with your student or email it directly to the PTO. Paper forms will also be sent home with your students soon, so check those backpacks and folders. You may pay by cash, check, or Venmo.
