Weekly Community Message from Mr. Lawrence

Good evening Topsail Middle families, this is Mr. Lawrence with this weeks community message.  Thank you to all our families who visited us last week at our Open House events.  It is hard to believe that school will start tomorrow.  Just a reminder that our school day for students begins at 7:30 and students are dismissed at 2:35.  Students will be allowed to enter the building at 7 am.   Be sure to check your email or the school website for our TMS community message.

  • Just a reminder, Topsail Middle follows the Pender County Schools dress code policy.  Please be sure to review dress code  Policy 4316 and cell phone Policy 4318

  • Our website has changed, if you search for Topsail Middle using google you will be directed to our old website.  Please use this link to be directed to our new school website.  We are suggesting that our families download our PCS app.  It can be located at the bottom of the homepage of our new district website.  This app will allow you to receive news messages and updates, while also paying cafeteria balances for your student(s).

  • Parent/Guardian Student Referral Form to see a School Counselor

  • Breakfast and Lunch will NOT be free for students this school year.  Lunch prices will be $2.45 and Breakfast will be $1.45.  All families who would like to purchase lunch and breakfast or apply for a free and reduced lunch application use this link.  Families can also check out the lunch menus and make payments by using the Aramark link.

  • If your child is riding a bus this year you can find the estimated pick and drop-off time using bus stop look-up.  Information about bus routes will also be available during Open House.

  • TMS Bands- 7th and 8th-grade band members need to bring their instruments on the first day of school.  6th-grade bands will get information about acquiring an instrument during the first few days of classes.  If you have any questions, please email Mr. Norem.

  • Please be patient with drop-off and pick-up processes during the first week of school.  This process always takes longer when we begin the school year than it does on a typical school day.  Be sure to communicate with your child on the first day as to how they are getting home.  Thank you in advance for your patience and flexibility during the first week of school.

Athletics/Clubs:

  • As we approach the first day of school, this is a final reminder that football and softball tryouts will begin right after school on Monday the 29th, our first day of school. If you have not already done so, it is imperative that you visit the Topsail Middle website, go to the menu, open the athletic webpage and complete the forms, following the instructions provided there. All students must have a valid sports physical uploaded into Bigteams. Best of luck to all who are trying out.

  • Operation Military Kids Club is looking forward to another great year! If your family is military- connected be sure to register for the club at operationmilitarykidsclubs.com. Yearly registration is required, even if you have participated previously. OMKC meets on the 3rd Friday of the month to give military-connected students a chance to connect in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

  • Our TMS Run Club will be back again this fall!  We will meet on Monday and Thursday after school, starting mid-September. All athletes must have a current physical on file to participate before our first practice, on September 19th (no exceptions). Our first 5k race will be the Ocean Fest 5K on October 8th.
