help needed

BURGAW, N.C. – Pender County Schools is stepping up to support our neighbors in Western North Carolina, who have been affected by historic flooding following the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. In partnership with Pender EMS and Fire, the district is collecting essential items for those impacted by the disaster.

Pender EMS and Fire will deliver the donations this Wednesday, as the state comes together to assist those in need—just as North Carolina did for Pender County six years ago. The community is urged to contribute to this vital cause and show unity with those suffering in the aftermath of the flooding.

All Pender County Schools are collecting donations, including bottled water, nonperishable food items, personal hygiene products, and cleaning supplies. Items will be gathered on Monday and Tuesday of this week, and will be delivered to Pender EMS and Fire on Tuesday afternoon.

We encourage our school community to participate in this effort, reminding us all that when one part of our state is in need, we come together to lend a helping hand.
