Good afternoon Surf City Families,

This is Principal Bridgers with your weekly announcements.  

  • Welcome back from Spring Break!  The end of the third quarter of the year is this Friday, March 18th.  Report cards will be issued on March 24th.

  • Friday, March 18th:  School Dance for 6th-8th grades from 3:00-5:00 pm.  Please be at school by 4:45 pm for pick-up.  For the dance, we are trying a new dismissal procedure in an effort to speed up the process.  All 6th grade students will be dismissed from the back bus parking lot.  7th graders will be along the side walk in the front of the school.  8th graders will be on the main middle school drop off and pick up area inside the parking lot.  If you are carpooling, please go to the location of the youngest student. 

  • Yearbooks:  www.strawbridge.net  The school code is YB113129.  

  • Special event just for rising 9th graders at Topsail High School:  Monday, March 14th, 5:00-7:00 pm.  See the flyer link for details.  We.Are.Topsail.Flyer

  • School Reminders:  Bring water for school and leave energy drinks at home.  In an effort to curb tardies and skipping between class changes, students will be referred for disciplinary action after three late instances.  

  • Sports Report

    • The basketball teams capped off awesome seasons. The girls finished runners up in the tournament after an undefeated regular season. The boys beat Topsail for the championship after the Sharks most successful season to date. 

    • Baseball tryouts will start Monday, March 14th (until 5:00 pm).  Volleyball tryouts will start Tuesday, March 15th (until 6:00 pm).  Players must have physicals turned in prior to tryouts, and bring the necessary equipment. For baseball, you'll need a glove and a cap, and for volleyball, knee pads are recommended. Please bring water as well.
