  • SCM Weekly Newsletter, May 15-19, 2023 

  • Good afternoon Sharks!  This is Principal Bridgers with your weekly announcements.  Happy Mother’s Day!  If you can believe it, there are only 10 more days of school!  Also, we begin our end of grade testing this week.  Arrival on time is essential.  Make sure your children are rested and have breakfast.  

  • Teacher Appreciation Week:  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  With donations from our parents, Harris Teeter, Walmart, and Renovation Church, the teachers felt so much love.  

  • 8th Grade Dance:  Thank you for a wonderful event for our 8th grade students.  Parents helped decorate and chaperone.  Everything was just beautiful.  The kids dressed up, took photos, danced, sang, ate, talked, and enjoyed being children one more night!  We would like to thank our sponsors for their help with the dance:  Top Sea Wings (wings), Shaka Taco (tacos), Publix (cupcakes), Seaside Topsail Photography (Photo Booth), GoRedTI.com (red carpet and red rope).  

  • Sports Report: 

    • We will have cheer tryouts on Monday, May 22, Wednesday, May 24, and Thursday, May 25. Monday and Wednesday will be from 3-5pm.  Thursday will be the final tryout from 3-7pm.  Students will need to have a physical in order to participate.   Please contact Coach Council at jodi_council@pender.k12.nc.us with any questions.  See this LINK for important tryout information.

  • Lost & Found:  Have your children look through the lost and found in the cafeteria.  We have lost of jackets, lunch boxes, and water bottles.  All items will be donated at the end of the year if unclaimed.

    • 5/16-Math EOG Test Day (important to be on time…no tardies to school)

    • 5/18-ELA EOG Test Day  (important to be on time…no tardies to school)

    • 5/19-OMKC

    • 5/23-Science EOG Test Day (8th grade only);  (important to be on time…no tardies to school)

    • 5/23-NJHS Induction Ceremony, 6pm

    • 5/26-8th grade moving up ceremony, 8am, football field, bring a chair 

    • 5/26-Last day of school 

  • Cafeteria Charges:   You may make payments at family.titank12.com  You may apply for free/reduced meals at the same site.
