For any student in grades 3-5 that would like to submit a Science Fair project outside of projects being worked on in the classroom will need to do so no later than Tuesday, November 29th. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions.
Looking ahead, on Monday, November 21st, we are inviting all students to bring up to two adults with them to school to learn with them for an hour as well as to have lunch with them for Thanksgiving at school on this date. Specific grade level information will be coming home with students soon.
On Thursday, November 24, Pender County Schools is once again proud to support “Feast of Hope” which provides Thanksgiving meals to those who are less fortunate. The event, which takes place on Thanksgiving Day, will provide a hot Thanksgiving plate dinner, dessert, care package and a message of hope. Over the last two years Feast of Hope has provided more than 1,500 meals to people in the Pender County and Wilmington areas. Thanksgiving meals will be served at Northside Church from 9am until noon. Pre-orders are preferred and may be placed at this link https://bit.ly/3Usb2hF and delivery service is also available. For those individuals that don't pre-order, plates will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Our quote for the week: “Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow” by Melody Beattie. As always, thank you for your continued support and we hope to see everyone Thursday evening for our Community Resilience activities!
