Good afternoon Rocky Point Families,
A reminder that we will be having a Veteran's Day assembly this Thursday, November 10th at 12:45pm in our school multipurpose room with short presentations and performances by students in honor of our veterans. Additionally, please remember we are still selling raffle tickets to support our PTO. The raffle tickets are $3.00 for one ticket or 2 for $5.00. The tickets give you the opportunity to win an American girl doll, a Keurig, nice Tupperware sets, or Princess House cookware, which are all on display in our front office. Therefore, you have 6 opportunities to win. The drawing will take place on November 10th at the end of our Veteran’s Day assembly.
Please note that this upcoming week, any 3rd, 4th or 5th grade students who were absent last week will be making up their North Carolina Check-In assessments. It is very important that we are able to have all students complete these assessments in order for us to analyze the data and differentiate instruction accordingly.
Please note that there is a change of the date previously shared with you for our Community Resilience Model presentation. The new date is Thursday, November 17th at 6:00pm. Again, we will be providing food for this event and interactive activities will take place for adults and students. We hope that you will plan to join us for this event.
Looking ahead, on Monday, November 21st, we are inviting all students to bring up to two adults with them to school to learn with them for an hour as well as to have lunch with them for Thanksgiving at school on this date. Specific grade level information will be coming home with students soon.
Thank you to all families that I have already seen coming to school and joining your child’s respective teacher(s) for their beginning of year conference. If you have not been able to do so, please connect with your child’s teacher to schedule your parent-teacher conference soon in order to review your child’s BOY assessments and first quarter performance.
Please remember that this Friday, November 11th is a Holiday for students and staff and therefore, there is no school. On this day, we celebrate our veterans and thank each and every one of our veteran families for your service to our country.
Our quote for the week: “If you concentrate on finding whatever is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul” by Harold Kushner. As always, thank you for your continued support and we hope everyone has a great week!
