Good afternoon Rocky Point Families,
Thank you to our students, families and staff members for all of your efforts and continued flexibility as we continue to work on the efficiency of our bus routes and car rider lines. Last week’s morning car line was a big improvement in flow as a result of your responsiveness to encouraging students to exit the vehicle once your vehicle had passed the first orange cone. As a reminder, our school bell times are from 7:20 to 2:20. If you arrive after 7:20am and announcements have started, you will need to park and walk your student in to the office to sign them in for the day.
Here Comes the Bus is now live district-wide for parents/ students to use. Below are links to information the schools can print and distribute to parents if needed.
Beginning of year assessments will be continuing this upcoming week. Our 3rd grade students will be taking their Beginning of Grade 3 state assessment on Wednesday morning. As always, please make sure students get a good night’s rest, eat a healthy breakfast to start their day and arrive on time.
Please remember that school lunches are not free for everyone for the 2022-23 school year. Unfortunately, there is also no 30-day grace period from last year's status. Meal charges began on the first day of school. You must apply for Free/Reduced lunch by following this link - www.pender.k12.nc.us/page/dining. Reminder of our PTO’s Attractions Coupon Book fundraiser that is still taking place. The last day of the fundraiser is Monday, September 19th. If you have any questions, please contact April Shepard or Michelle Stone via email at Rockypointpto@gmail.com. A reminder that if you cannot participate in this fundraiser, please return the book in its original condition immediately. The PTO is offering individual prizes for students as well as a popsicle party for the top selling class in the school!

Fall school pictures will take place on Tuesday, September 20.
Our Beginning of Year Curriculum Event and Annual Title 1 Parent Meeting for this upcoming year will take place on Thursday, September 22. At this event, you will learn more about your child’s curriculum and your rights and responsibilities as stakeholders in a Title 1 School. Families will meet in the gym at 4:00pm to hear Title 1 information followed by grade level rotations beginning shortly afterwards. There will be opportunities for parents to visit multiple children’s classrooms on a rotating basis during this event. We hope that you all will plan to join us for this event.
