Good afternoon Rocky Point Families,

What a wonderful first week of school we had!  Thank you to our students, families and staff members for all of your efforts to ensure such a successful first week of school!  Additionally, thank you for your patience and flexibility with our bus routes and with car rider lines as our bus drivers learn new routes and our staff members and students familiarize themselves with one another in the car rider line.  In the mornings, there a few ways that you can help to increase the efficiency of our car line:

  1. Pull all the way up to our first orange cone if you are the first vehicle in line.

  2. Ensure that your child is ready to exit the vehicle on the right side when you have turned in the driveway of the school.

  3. While we have staff members along the sidewalk to greet students and for supervision, please encourage your child to get out of the vehicle themselves and open electrical van doors for students if your vehicle has come to a stop along the main sidewalk and you have passed the first tall orange cone.

If you would like for your student to eat breakfast at school, you need to arrive no later than 7:10am as students are dismissed from the cafeteria at 7:18 in order to be in class and ready to begin their academic day beginning at 7:20am when our tardy bell rings.  If you arrive after 7:20am to drop your student off for school, please note that you must come inside to sign them in and they will not be allowed to go to breakfast.

Pre-K parents, please note that this week and moving forward, you will not be allowed to drop off or pick your child up from the Pre-K area between 7:45am through 1:45pm.  This procedure is being put in place to protect all of our students at Rocky Point Elementary School.

Beginning of year assessments will begin this upcoming week.  As always, please make sure students get a good night’s rest, eat a healthy breakfast to start their day and arrive on time.

If you have a child that is interested in signing up for scouts, please note that the cub scout sign-up night will be held this upcoming Thursday, September 8th from 6:00-7:30pm in the Rocky Point Elementary School cafeteria.  If you are unable to attend the sign-up night, you may call Levi Mullis at 910-395-1100, ext. 102 or email him at levi.mullis@scouting.org.

Please remember that school lunches are not free for everyone for the 2022-23 school year.  Unfortunately, there is also no 30-day grace period from last year's status.  Meal charges began on the first day of school.
