On Wednesday, Principal April Perkins and District Beginning Teacher Coach Lyndsay Paquette presented 2nd grade teacher Natalie Tidler with Beginning Teacher of Promise for Rocky Point. Natalie Tidler received her Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of North Carolina. From a young age, Natalie developed an interest in teaching. Today, Natalie loves teaching because she gets to help students learn and grow. It is rewarding when students understand a concept and have that "aha" moment. In addition to seeing academic growth, Natalie also enjoys teaching because she gets to help students grow as individuals, and support them through challenges and celebrations. Natalie joined the Rocky Point team in November, after completing her Master's. Natalie has loved being a Rocky Point Ram. "Although I came in late, the Rocky Point family quickly welcomed me, and I have developed positive relationships with students and staff," Natalie say
Ms. Tidler will be recognized at the Teacher of the Year Banquet in May as our school's Beginning Teacher of Promise. She will also go through the process for Beginning Teacher of the Year for Pender County Schools.
