They say it takes a village to raise a child. Well, at Rocky Point is doing just that with our support staff. Our ML, EC, Reading and Math interventionists, and therapists are a vital part of our Rocky Point team. These amazing educators provide support and guidance to students which helps to facilitate a deeper level of understanding for students. Using various creative ways to break down learning concepts into several smaller components, students are immersed and engaged in learning.
Students who need extra language support work with Mrs. Black and Mrs. Batten, Mrs. Perez and our wonderful volunteer Ashley Teeter. They work with teachers to ensure the academic needs of these students are met. The ML teachers work with students in grades K-5. It is wonderful to see students flourish and thrive in the school culture. They enhance our school community. Mrs. Susannah Ward is our bridge between the school staff and families. She is caring and dedicated to helping the families that come to our school. She translates information to families throughout the district.
Our EC department is providing support to our students in different settings. Ms. Barnhill, Ms. Barrett, and Ms. Shaw foster an environment of encouragement and growth mindset. Ms. Lopez, Ms. Storms, and Ms. Iania are assisting students through the day with encouragement and guidance. Ms. Kunath and Ms. Gainey work side by side cultivating speech development for our Rocky Point students. Ms. Mann is our psychologist and Ms. Sutton is our occupational therapist. They are helping our students develop and grow so many skills. Mrs. Bishop is our reading interventionist and Mrs. Ridenour is our math interventionist.
