The first few weeks of school, the children have been learning about their five senses. They are learning how we see, hear, taste, touch, and smell as we ask the question: How do our senses help us learn?
This week Kindergarten students read The Last House on Market Street by Matt de la Peña. After they finished reading the book, students discussed how the main character CJ used his senses to learn about the world. With the help of his senses, CJ realizes you can find something beautiful anywhere in the world. Our children then created a graffiti wall to celebrate the discovery of beauty in unexpected places.
