PENDER COUNTY, NC - The halls of North Topsail Elementary were alive with excitement as young literary enthusiasts from across the county gathered for the highly anticipated Elementary Battle of the Books competition. Organized by the North Carolina School Library Media Association, this event showcased the students' love for reading and thirst for knowledge.
In the heart of this energetic atmosphere, Penderlea School emerged as the champion, securing first place with an impressive total score of 125 points. Following closely were the remarkable contenders: Rocky Point Elementary, clinching second place with an admirable 122 points, and Surf City Elementary, proudly claiming third place with 120 points. The warm and inviting atmosphere of North Topsail Elementary set the stage for students to engage in spirited yet friendly competition, allowing them to showcase their literary talents with grace and enthusiasm.
Kudos to Ms. Robertson and her remarkable North Topsail Elementary staff for their impeccable organization and unwavering support throughout the event. Their meticulous planning ensured smooth sailing from start to finish. Furthermore, the moderation provided by Monet Alvin, Heide Trask High Media Coordinator, and Kayla Davidson, Digital Learning Specialist, upheld the integrity of the competition, guaranteeing a fair and memorable experience for all participants.
