Good Afternoon Rocky Point Families,

I want to begin by saying that we were thankful to see all of our students back in school on Friday, September 1st following Tropical Storm Idalia.  We are also appreciative of your efforts to ensure that students completed their assignments and returned them to school on Friday to allow them to be marked as present for our remote learning day this past Thursday.

As shared in last weekend’s update, we want your feedback in order to plan events and activities for this upcoming school year, therefore I am providing the 23-24 RPE Fall Parent Survey link again this week for you to have the ability to complete it if you were not able to do so at Open House. It will close on Friday, September 8th.

As a few parents have called this week, we would like to share contact information regarding our PACES after school program.  PACES is off to a wonderful start and is still accepting applications.  The direct number for the program is 910-623-6012  Monday-Friday from 12:00pm - 6:00pm or any time via email at jessicam_roman@pender.k12.nc.us

We are appreciative of your patience as we worked through some transportation challenges during this first week of school.  Our hope is that this upcoming week will be a much smoother week as things settle into place and our drivers continue to become more familiar with their respective routes and their bus riders.

Looking ahead, we will have fall pictures on Tuesday, September 19th.  Flyers for students will be coming home soon.

Please remember that there is no school for students and staff tomorrow, Monday, September 4 as it is closed for the Labor Day holiday.  Our quote for the week:  “Each one of us can make a difference.  Together we make change ” by Barbara Mikulski.  Have a wonderful and safe holiday and we look forward to seeing our students back at school on Tuesday, September 5th!
