Good Afternoon Rocky Point Families,
I hope that all of our RAM families have had a wonderful summer. Thank you to all families who supported our Summer Bridge program by sending your rising Kindergarten and rising Third Grade students. We had a great time interacting with students that week!
A reminder that Rocky Point Elementary School will host our Open House on Thursday, August 24. Our doors are open for Kindergarten students and families only from 3:00 - 4:00pm. Students and families in Pre-K and 1st through 5th grades are invited to come meet their child’s teacher between 4:00 - 6:00pm. When you arrive on campus, we are asking that you check in at one of our three tables out front to find out your child’s teacher, then enter the building through the main entrance. Grade level supply lists are available on our school website as well as our school Facebook page.
At Open House, you will find out your child’s teacher for this school year as well as receive the following items:
- Classroom Teacher Information
- Title 1 Compacts, Title 1 Family Engagement Policy & an opportunity to complete our Fall Parent Survey
- Pre-K through 2nd grade Bus Ridership Form & bus information for students in all grade
- An opportunity to complete mandatory BOY Application Updates &
Chromebook Agreement Form
- An opportunity to view the core texts for Module 1 of our Wit and Wisdom ELA curriculum and student workbooks for Module 1 of Eureka Math Squared, our new Math curriculum
Please make sure to confirm how your child will be getting to and from school each day when you meet your child’s teacher!
Please keep in mind that you may complete the BOY Application update and chromebook agreement form online now through your parent portal in Scribbles. Once you complete the BOY application, you will receive an email with confirmation that the application was completed. If you need assistance in completing the application, please call the school at 910-675-2309 and we will be happy to help.
I am also excited to share that we have a new PACES program director, the paid afterschool program at RPES, Mrs. Jessica Roman. We are excited to have her lead the program this year! She will be available at Open House if you need to register your child for PACES. You may also do so now through the application on the Pender County Homepage. Also, at Open House, we invite you to visit our PTO Table and sign up to be a part of our PTO this school year! There will also be representatives from boy scouts and girl scouts in the foyer by the Counselor’s office if you are interested in signing your child up for scouts.
The first day of school for students is Monday, August 28th. Please remember that our car rider line begins drop off at 7:00am with our tardy bell ringing at 7:20am. For our new families, our dismissal time is 2:20pm. We look forward to seeing all families on Thursday, August 24th at Open House!
