Good afternoon Rocky Point Families,
We hope that each and every family had a great start to the fourth quarter this past week. Our Parent Teacher Organization would like to thank all families that attended the PTO meeting this past Thursday. Please be on the lookout for information being posted on the RPES PTO Facebook page in the coming weeks regarding fundraisers for the remainder of the year as well as information and opportunities to be one of the PTO officers for the 2023-2024 school year.
A reminder that tomorrow, Monday, March 20th, all final virtual video submissions for our talent show for off-site acts need to be submitted to Mrs. Black at laura_black@pender.k12.nc.us.
On Tuesday, March 21, third quarter report cards will be coming home with students. Along with report cards, all families will receive the bus ridership form for the 2023-2024 school year. All families need to complete and return this form as soon as possible even if you plan for your child to be a car rider next school year. Also, coming home with some students are attendance letters and retention letters informing you that your child is at risk for retention based on poor attendance or lack of mastery on academic standards. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions.
Kindergarten registration is ongoing at this time! If you have a child that will turn 5 years old prior to August 31, 2023, please register them for Kindergarten. This Wednesday, March 22nd, we are inviting all families registering upcoming Kindergarten students for the 23-24 school year to come to Rocky Point Elementary school between 10:00am and 6:00pm. You will have the opportunity to verify registrations are complete and meet our current Kindergarten staff. In order to complete your Kindergarten registration, we need the following items:
Student’s Birth Certificate
Proof of Residency, which could consist of: Utility bill, Mortgage or Rental Agreement, or Property Tax Bill
Guardian Identification such as a Driver’s License
Custody Court Documents if applicable
On Thursday, March 23rd, students will be coming home with their own created “Art to Remember” order forms. Please return any purchases to the school no later than Thursday, April 6th.
On Friday, March 24th, students will take their spring individual pictures. Students do not have to prepay in order to have their individual pictures taken.
Also, the reassignment application is currently open through Friday, March 31st. If you would like for your student to attend a Pender County School other than the one they are zoned for, you will need to submit a reassignment request. A quick reference guide to complete the reassignment application is attached. Reassignment Request Reference guide
Applications for Kindergarten registration and Reassignment can be found at https://penderncc.scriborder.com/ If you need assistance with either of these processes, you may contact our school data manager, Mrs. Jan Richardson. Please let us know if you have any questions!
