A HUGE thank you to all parents that were able to attend our “Bring your Parent to School” event. We had 259 of our 500 students that had at least 1 adult with them. We appreciate all the family and community support.
The BETA club is currently sponsoring a canned food drive. The homeroom that brings in the most items will get a doughnut party. The last day to turn items in is TOMORROW, November 28.
Any middle school student that needs an athletic physical for 2nd semester needs to see Mrs. Mintz for the paperwork. We are offering FREE physicals at school on December 8. This is a change in date from what was originally announced.
A letter will be coming home with all students on Wednesday, November 30th regarding our school designation of a Targeted Support & Improvement Additional Targeted Support (TSI-AT)/Consistently Underperforming Subgroups (TSI-CU) school by the North Carolina State Board of Education. As written in ESSA Section 1111(d)(2), North Carolina had to identify schools for targeted support and improvement. TSI-AT schools in North Carolina are those that have a subgroup that is not achieving at the rate of other students
On Monday, our soccer team will travel to Topsail Middle to play. On Tuesday, the soccer team will play Cape Fear at home. Pictures will be made before the game. On Thursday, our soccer team will travel to Cape Fear Middle to play.
Planning Ahead: Our Winter Night of Arts & Science will be on Tuesday, December 6 at 6:00. All K-5 students will be performing. Grades 6-8 band students will be performing. All science fair projects will be on display and the winners of the grades 4-5 science fair will be announced.
