I would like to thank all the Penderlea faculty, students and families for the warm welcome that Mrs. McNeill and I received this week.  We are both excited to be at Penderlea School.

On Monday,we begin celebrating Red Ribbon Week with US Day.   We ask students to wear red, white and blue.

All makeup NC Check-in Tests for grades 3-8 will be given on Monday.   If your student missed a test this week, please try to have them at school on time to make up this test.

After soccer try-outs finished this past week, we still have a few available spots on the GIRLS team only that need to be filled. If you're interested, there will be one more opportunity to try-out on Monday, October 24th. Try-outs will go until 4:30. You must see Mrs. Mintz first thing in the morning on Monday, having a physical on file, and be academically eligible in order to try-out. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Finn or Mrs. Kolb.

The boys’ soccer team WILL have practice on Monday after school.

Penderlea is partnering with Pender County Recreation Department to host a Community Movie Night on Monday, October 24th.  The movie will be Monsters, Inc.  Penderlea PTO will be selling pizza, chips, and a drink for $5.  Cash only.  The movie will be shown on the football field.  Make sure to bring a blanket/chair.   Gates will open at 6.  A parent or guardian must accompany students.  We hope that everyone can attend.

On Tuesday, students will NOT have school.  This is a workday for our staff.

On Wednesday, we are celebrating Red Ribbon Week with COLOR day.  We ask that Kinders & 1st graders wear yellow, 2nd and 3rd graders wear green, 4th and 5th graders wear pink, 6th & 7th graders wear purple and 8th graders wear blue.

All students in grades 5-8 will be asked to participate in a brief screener to assist us in uncovering and addressing the social and emotional well-being of our students. An orange opt-out letter was sent home this past week .  If you do NOT want your student to participate, please sign and return this letter no later than MONDAY.
