We started the second nine weeks on Friday. We are looking forward to a great nine weeks.
Our PTO will be meeting on Monday October 10th at 8:00 am in the media center. Dr. Steven HIll, Superintendent of PCS, will be present at this meeting to do a presentation on the School Bond. Our SIT team will be meeting on Wednesday, October 12th beginning at 3:30 pm in the media center. If you can not attend in person, we invite you to attend virtually. SIT Meeting
Our BETA Club will meet on Wednesday, October 12th after school at 3:10 pm
Picture money is due to your student’s homeroom teacher on Friday, October 14th.
October is Month of Awareness. This week we are bringing awareness to Special Needs Awareness including educating individuals about various needs and how to bring about necessary changes. Over 15% of the world’s population experience some type of special need. Let’s work together to help break social barriers. Please wear YELLOW on Friday to support special needs awareness!
Our PBIS team has planned another fall favorite activity for the month of October. If you are able to donate “mini pumpkins” to your students' homeroom teacher, please do so by October 21st. Our student’s activity this month will be painting the mini pumpkins on October 28th.
We are planning now for Penderlea’s Yearbook. This year we will be choosing a students’ design for the yearbook cover. Student’s who would like to participate in the contest, designs are due to Mrs. Hounshel on October 31st. We will not be accepting any designs after this date. Athletics:
Our Softball team will play at home on Tuesday, October 11th beginning at 4:00 pm. The cost to enter the games is $5.00. PHS Booster passes are accepted.
Our Football team will play at Penderlea on Wednesday, October 12th at 4:00 pm. The cost to enter the games is $5.00. PHS Booster passes are accepted.
Boys and Girls soccer try-outs will be October 20th-21st from 3:15-4:30pm. Athletes in grades 6th, 7th, and 8th grade who are interested must attend both days of try-outs. In order to be eligible for try-outs, students must have an updated physical on file and be academically eligible. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Finn or Mrs. Kolb.

October 7th: Students return to school for the 2nd nine weeks.
