Good Evening Penderlea Families. This is Ms. Fuller with your message. We hope everyone had a great weekend.
The end of the First Nine Weeks is this Friday, September 16th. Make sure you have submitted all assignments and reached out to your teachers if you have any questions. Fall Break will begin September 19th and end on October 6th. Students will return to school on October 7th. The school calendar is included at the end of this message. We wish everyone a safe Fall Break.
Our SIT team will be meeting on Wednesday beginning at 3:30 pm in the media center. If you can not attend in person, we invite you to attend virtually. SIT Meeting
Our BETA Club will meet on Wednesday, September 14th after school at 3:10 pm.
Our BETA Club is sponsoring a Dessert Day Fundraiser. A flyer went home with students last week. The completed flyer is due to your child’s homeroom teacher on Friday, September 16th. If you have any questions please reach out to your child's homeroom teacher.
This Thursday we would like to recognize our grandparents of Penderlea! We would like to invite our grandparents or special grown ups to come and have lunch with your grandchild on Thursday, September 15th. Please remember that we are not allowed to have outside food (ex. McDonald’s, Subway, etc.) brought into the cafeteria. You may purchase lunch from the cafeteria or you may bring lunch from home. Flyers went home with students last week. Please remember to RSVP to your child’s homeroom teacher by September 12th so that the cafeteria can plan accordingly for lunch.
September is a very special month for many reasons but this year it has been made even more special. September is Children's Cancer Awareness month and this year we have a hornet who was diagnosed with a rare neck cancer a few months ago. We would like to use our last week before break to help spread awareness for childhood cancers as well as support Lillian through her journey.
Monday: One of Lillian’s favorite sports to watch is Race Cars. At 7:45 am the school will do a school wide “Race to Read” for 15 minutes. Everyone in the school will be reading their favorite book.
Tuesday: Another favorite sport of Lillian’s is Swimming. Wear a shirt that represents your favorite sport or sports team.
Wednesday: Lillian’s favorite SuperHero is Superwoman. Dress as your favorite super hero.
Thursday: Lillian’s favorite color is Purple. We are asking that everyone wear Purple on Thursday.
Friday: Wear yellow to show your support of Children’s Cancer Awareness Month.
We are planning now for Penderlea’s Yearbook. This year we will be choosing a students design for the yearbook cover. The students designs who would like to participate in the contest are due to Ms. Haugh on October 31st. We will not be accepting any designs after this date. Athletics:
Our softball and football season begins this week! We are excited that the first games of the season will be at home. To celebrate these seasons, all Penderlea students will be able to attend the first home game for FREE. This is only for this week’s games. Students are not allowed to stay after school for the game. Students must be picked up at dismissal and brought back to the game at 4:00 pm. An adult must stay with their student at the game.
Our Softball team will play at home on Monday, September 12th beginning at 4:00 pm. The cost to enter the games is $5.00. PHS Booster passes are accepted.
Our Football team will play at Penderlea on Wednesday, September 14th at 4:00 pm. The cost to enter the games is $5.00. PHS Booster passes are accepted.
