Good Evening Penderlea Families. This is Ms. Fuller with your message. Remember that there is no school for students tomorrow, Monday, August 22nd. This is a teacher's workday. We will see you on Tuesday.
Penderlea School will be holding its Fall BookFair from August 23rd-26th. The book fair will be open to parents at Curriculum Night on August 23rd. Use the link to learn more about the bookfair. Penderlea Bookfair Flyers were also sent home with students.
Curriculum Night will be held at Penderlea on Tuesday, August 23rd from 5:00-6:30. Food will be served from 5:00-5:30 in the school cafeteria, Title 1 meeting will be in the gym from 5:30-5:45, then parents will meet with teachers from 5:45-6:30 pm.
We invite you to our first meeting of the year for the PTO. It will be held on Monday, August 29th at 6:00 pm in the media center. If you can not attend in person, we invite you to attend virtually. PTO Meeting Link

We are in the process of updating our signin signout system. Please begin bringing your driver license in with you as it will be used with the new system.
Athletics:
Football Tryouts will be held on August 22nd at Burgaw Middle School from 4:00-6:00. Any students in grades 7-8 who want to try out need to be at BMS by 4:00 pm. Since August 22nd is a teacher workday and students are not in school, any student interested in trying out, parents must provide transportation to BMS on Monday. Students in grades 7-8 who are academically eligible and who have a current physical on file will be allowed to try out. Beginning on Tuesday, August 23rd, students trying out will be transported to Burgaw Middle School after school. Parents are responsible for picking students up at Burgaw Middle School. Please contact Mrs. Donna Mintz if you have any questions.
Softball practice this week will be held on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week until 5:00 pm.

August 22nd: Mandatory Workday for staff. No school for students.

September 5th: Labor Day. School is closed for students and staff.
September 16th: End of the 1st nine weeks.
September 19th-October 6th: Fall Break for students.
October 7th: Students return to school for the 2nd nine weeks.
