Good evening Penderlea Families,
Here are some important information and updates for the week of November 17th through the November 22nd and beyond:
I would like to start this week’s message by informing families about a couple of incidents that happened late last week involving inappropriate talk and non-credible threats at school.
The source of these incidents were identified, and we are working closely with local law enforcement to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Please know that we have taken all necessary precautions and will continue to do so to maintain a safe and secure environment.
This situation serves as a good reminder to report concerns. Parents and guardians, please talk with your students about being proactive and immediately reporting to staff of any inappropriate conversations that are being had at school. If you or your student become aware of any potential threats please let a school staff member know immediately, or use our “Say Something” reporting system, available on each school's main webpage and the Pender County Schools mobile app.
Parents and guardians, please also talk with your child about the importance of not making comments that could be seen as threatening or inappropriate for school. These incidents take time and focus off of teaching and learning for both students and staff.
We understand that situations like this can be concerning, and we want to reassure you that the safety and well-being of our students are always our top priority. If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact us.
