Good evening Penderlea Families,
Here are some important updates and reminders for the coming weeks:
Family Support and Curriculum Night Mark your calendars! Our annual Family Support and Curriculum Night will be held on August 15th from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. A mandatory Title 1 information session will take place in the gym at 5:00 PM, followed by an opportunity to visit your child's teacher's classroom. We will also provide refreshments for families. This evening is dedicated to helping families understand their child's curriculum and learn how to support their student's success at home.
Athletics Meeting Reminder The Fall Athletic Interest Meeting will be held after our Family Support and Curriculum Night on August 15th at 6:30 PM in the Penderlea Media Center. This meeting is for Parents/Guardians of athletes who plan to try out for fall cheer, softball, or football. Please note: This meeting is mandatory for parents/guardians and the athlete. Please bring an up to date physical to the meeting. During the meeting, we will complete all needed paperwork together, create your athlete's BigTeams account, and provide essential information for the upcoming season.
We will hold meetings at a later date for soccer, basketball, winter cheer, baseball, and volleyball.
Cheer Tryouts Cheer Tryouts will occur the week of August 19th. Anyone interested in trying out must have their physical completed by then if they do not have a current one on file. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Gurganus.
Middle School Football 7th or 8th-grade students interested in playing middle school football should sign up on the middle school bulletin board upstairs. Practice begins Monday, August 26th after school. Athletes must have a current physical on file to stay for practice and will need football cleats. Please see Mrs. Lanier for any questions.
Mobile Dental Clinic The Mobile Dental Clinic will be on campus from July 15th to August 22nd. This is a great opportunity for your child to get their yearly exam done. If you did not receive a consent form and would like one sent home with your child, please let Nurse Bain know.
Important Update: Progress Reports
You will receive your child’s first progress report soon.
K-5 students will receive their progress reports on Tuesday, August 13th.
Middle school students will receive their progress reports by Friday, August 16th.
Please note that the format of these progress reports may look different than in previous years due to our transition from PowerSchools to Infinite Campus. We are working diligently to fully implement Infinite Campus and anticipate a smoother progress report process in the future. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate this change.
