Happy Friday Penderlea!
If your child is interested in trying out for baseball, they will need to be prepared to have workouts the week of March 11 from 4:00- 5:15.
Tryouts will be March 18 and 19th from 4:00-5:30.
Please be aware that this is over our spring break and you will need to provide transportation to workouts and tryouts. Practice is also over break and will start on the 20th.
If you do not have a physical on file, go ahead and get that taken care of before March 11. Please make sure to sign up outside of Mrs. Fedoronko’s room prior to leaving for break.
Volleyball tryouts will be March 25th and 26th as soon as we return from spring break. If your child is interested in trying out, they will need a current physical on file and to have signed up outside of Mrs. Graham’s classroom.
Elementary Battle of the Books will be on Wednesday, February 28th at North Topsail Elementary. Good luck team!
We will celebrate “Read Across America”, the week of February 26-March 1. We will have various dress up days and readers visiting classrooms.
Monday: Crazy Sock Day
Tuesday: Dress like a tourist
Wednesday: Dress in Wacky Tacky/mismatched clothes
Thursday: Wear our school colors
Friday: Dress like your favorite book character.
Looking ahead, Transition Night will be May 8th . Come out and learn about your child’s upcoming grade level. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
FCA will be moved to Thursday Feb 29th this week due to tournament games. We will begin at 4pm following science Olympiad. Those who want to stay after school until our meeting at 4pm can stay with nurse Bain for a study hall. This is open to all middle school students. Pizza will be provided. Pick up time is 5pm.
As we approach Spring Break remember that Monday March 4th is a half day. All students must be picked up by 11:40. This will kick off break with students returning to school on Monday March 25th.
March 27th our fifth grade students will participate in Agricultural Day. Students will travel to Penderlea Farms to explore the local agricultural culture and life. The CTE team and the NC-Cooperative Extension are excited to host your students at Penderlea Farms for Ag Day. There will be no permission forms required, please contact the office if you wish to have your child opt out.
Once returning from Spring Break, schools will be closed on March 29th and April 1st for Easter.
