We made it through the first week back with flying colors!
We are so proud of our children, they came back rested and ready to get back to the business of learning.
Below are updates and important events for the coming weeks in January 2024.
All Pender Early College applications are due to Mrs. Burdette by Friday, January 26.
8th graders will be visiting Pender High School for a transition event on Friday, February 2. Permission slips will be coming home soon.
Pender High School traditionally offers a parent night in conjunction with the day event for students. Once this date is set, this will be forwarded to parents/guardians.
Basketball tryouts will be January 8th-10th until 4:45pm. Please make sure you have a current physical on file at school and are academically eligible. Only approved athletes may stay after school to try out.
The Pender County School's Board of Education (BoE) will be selecting a media coordinator, principal, and parent from each level of school within the system (i.e., elementary, middle, high school) to serve on the Community Media Advisory Committee (CMAC).
This committee will serve for the term of one year, and they will be responsible for addressing any community concerns related to instructional material that go beyond the building level reconsideration committee in accordance with BoE policy 3210 Parental Inspection of and Objection to Instructional Materials.

Please join us Thursday, January 11th for some FUN during STEAM Night. Your child will be able to participate in hands -on events throughout the school. Middle School math teachers will also be available to explain your middle school iReady Math scores. Snacks will be provided.
STEAM Night will start at 5pm and end at 7pm.
There will be no school Monday Jan 15th in honor of MLK Jr.
We will be administering NC Check-In testing on January 18 - Math, January 23 - ELA, and January 25 - Science. Please make sure your child’s chromebook is fully charged on testing days. This is for grades 3 - 8. Please make sure your child gets a good night's rest and arrives at school on time. PTO will be having a quarter auction on Friday, January 19th. Please plan to join us. The doors will open at 5:30.
